Tellurian Group Homes are located in Madison, Wisconsin. Acewood House and Crawford House are each seven-bed, fully licensed Class A Community Based Residential Facilities. These group homes serve individuals with a primary diagnosis of mental illness who can be safely and best served in an unlocked community setting. Programs are staffed 24 hours a day. Services include symptom management support, assistance with daily living activities, independent living skills development, and medication supervision. The programs provide individualized, person-centered, recovery-oriented services in a respectful, comfortable setting. The ultimate goal is to accomplish the highest level of independence and quality of life for each resident by providing learning tools, skills, opportunities, motivation, empowerment, encouragement and connections to community resources. All referrals are made through the Dane County Department of Human Services or a contracted agency. The length of stay for each resident varies according to his or her individual progress.Tellurian group homes are located throughout the city of Madison and provide a total of 40 single room occupancy (SRO) housing units for patients with alcohol, drug, and mental health problems, as well as frequent history of homelessness. The program serves as an alternative to more expensive institutional environment, while providing on site social worker/case worker services and oversight. Additional services provided include mentoring programs and money management. Patients contribute 30% of personal income including Supplemental Security Income (SSI) toward room and board. Medication supervision is provided and monitored by staff and psychiatrist.
